More First School Day

The girls all had a good first day at school. Here are some more pictures. Enjoy!

First Day of School

Wow!  It's the first day of school already.  All three girls are very excited!  And they look so cute.  Orm is a bit scared but very excited.  Bridget is nervous but happy.  Marlee is so excited she can't stop talking this morning.  The school uniforms are cute aren't they?  More pics to come.

Playing at Forsyth Park

Today we had a picnic at Forsyth Park in Savannah. There were many bands that put on an outdoor music concert. We played at the park on the playground. It was a beautiful day.

Barbeque and Boggie Boarding

Today we went to Marlee's school and met her teachers. She starts on Monday and she is so excited. We are excited too. We grilled some delicious chicken. Orm helped with the grilling! It came out so tasty. After dinner we went to the beach for some boggie boarding. We caught some good waves. It is so amazing to see Marlee emerge from some big wave darting out on that boggie board. She can really ride that thing. It didn't take Orm long and she was riding right along with us. She said it was "awesome". I was happy that she liked it so much.

Time to visit the schools

Well, we walked around the historic district and took a ride on the ferry across the Savannah river. It was alot of fun. Today was open house at the schools for Bridget and for Orm. You can see Orm's first step into her American school. Orm will be an Island High School Shark. Bridget enters her last year at coastal middle school. We went out for ice cream to celebrate.

Buzzing with the Bees

Our friend Gordon Mathews gave us all a tour of the Savannah Bee Company. He showed us how the bees make their hive and how you get the honey. I don't have any pictures right now. I asked the girls to stand next to the bees and smile but they didn't do it? :) Ha ha. Well, we had a really nice time and we thank Gordon so much for showing us around and answering our many questions. Bees are cool!

Fishing, Shrimping, and Crabbing with Diana

We stopped by Diana's house on Chimney Creek for a visit. Diana showed us how to catch crabs, shrimp, and fish (We got them all). Orm, Bridget, and Marlee were absolutely fascinated and it was easy to tell that they loved it. We really loved spending time with Diana. What a special person and we are so grateful. We added the 5 shrimp we caught to our dinner last night! Oh, and one more cute pirate picture.

Touring Savannah with Orm The Pirate

This morning we headed out to the historic district of Savannah and took a trolley tour. Then we met up with our friend Jean, who is Orm's CASE representative, at the Pirate House Restaurant for a fine lunch. We met up with the scary pirates you see pictured below. We had a lot of fun.

Orm woke up this morning and was smiley and happy. She said she had a good sleep. She watched tv (Mickey Mouse) with Marlee. We had a nice breakfast with fruit, eggs, bread, and bacon. She said that she liked it. She is now playing with Marlee and Bridget upstairs in the bedroom. She is such a delightful girl.

Orm has arrived in Savannah!

Orm has landed safe and sound. Now time to rest!

We're not in Kansas anymore.

Orm is on schedule to arrive tonight.  She is currently in the air over Kansas which triggered my thoughts about how different Savannah, Georgia may feel from Bangkok, Thailand.  Bangkok is a huge modern city.  Savannah, is a small historic city.  What a great adventure awaits us all.  We will keep you updated!

Orm is coming!

We are all so excited. We are getting things ready for the arrival of Orm, our exchange student from Thailand! We can tell already that she is lovely and smart. What a joy it will be for all of us to share this school year with her. She will be arriving this coming weekend. Marlee and Bridget can't wait to show her everything. It looks like it will take over 30 hours for all of her flights to bring her here. Stay tuned...
